Observation Write up
During my internship at Sussex College Kiribathgoda, I had the opportunity to undergo two observations as a part of my internship requirements. The observations were conducted by an experienced English teacher at the school.
In the first observation, I prepared and conducted a lesson for students in grade 6. Observer provided valuable feedback and suggested spending more time introducing the lesson to set the context and engage students more effectively. Additionally, she commended me for having a clear and audible voice throughout the lesson, which enhanced communication with each student in the class.
In preparation for the second observation, I carefully planned lesson content and activities for grade 7 students. During this observation, the observer recognized the structured nature of the lesson and praised the coherence of the lesson plan. Additionally, the observer noted that my movements in the classroom were purposeful, synchronized with the flow of the lesson, and contributed to the overall effectiveness of teaching.
These observations provided valuable opportunities for growth and development as a teacher. The constructive feedback provided by the observer highlighted strengths and room for improvement and was helpful to my current professional practice. Through reflecting and implementing feedback, I strive to develop my teaching skills and create meaningful learning experiences for my students.
Attached below are the observation sheets providing a detailed overview of the observer's feedback and reflections.
